Audi A8 L 2019 review: So much tech for less engagement!

06/01/2020

Audi A8 L 2019 has all the technologies you can think of in a modern car, but with an engagement that's below expectations. Check out why we say so below!

1. Audi A8 L 2019 & its competitors

In a highly competitive posh segment, the Audi A8 L 2019 stands out effortlessly without making so much noise. It leaves no stone unturned in the areas of safety as it provides sophisticated technologies to ensure that occupants are highly protected. But then, it is far from perfect. This is no surprise as perfection in itself is an illusion.

Currently on the market, major competitors of the 2019 Audi A8 include top luxury cars on the market such as:

  • Genesis G90
  • BMW 7 Series
  • Mercedes-Benz S-Class
  • Lexus LS

Audi A8 L 2019 will compete directly with top luxury vehicles on the market

The Audi A8 L 2019 is far from being a stunner. Major rivals like BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class give it a run for its money in the looks department. Perhaps the automaker did this deliberately as they are very much aware of the competition. But what the A8 lacks in looks, it makes up for in other areas such as comfort and technology. You might underrate it by its outlook, but you will be pleasantly surprised when you get close enough to know it.

2. Audi A8 L 2019 Interior: The race towards utmost comfort

If you are taking the driver’s seat, you might have little to enjoy in the 2019 Audi A8. The blame can be shifted to the car’s uninspired powertrain, understeer-prone chassis and lifeless steering.

To know how luxury the interior design inside an Audi A8 L 2019 is, it's best you look through pictures and see video below!

3. Audi A8 L 2019 performance: A bit short of unique driving experience

The latest Audi A8 L 2019 may satisfy your digital needs but not driving experience, sorry.

Built with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 hybrid powertrain, the engine of the A8 cannot be faulted. You are sure to drive comfortable with its 369 pound-feet of torque and 335 horsepower. Its eight-speed automatic transmission does a good job in sending power to all the four-wheels. 27 miles for each gallon used on the highway is returned. But the throttle response can do better. When you put down your foot, rather than get instant response, you notice a long delay before it comes alive, and this is followed by a jerky movement.

High-end tech to meet your digital needs but not driving experience

There is an ineffective communication between the transmission, engine and gas pedal. But you may not experience all these sluggishness if you choose to drive on dynamic mode. But even at that, you get the feeling that this potent driving mode is too lethargic for such a strong name “Dynamic.” In an attempt to make the car extravagant, Audi fell short in enhancing the car’s driving experience.

Equipped with fine engines, A8 L hasn't gained effective communication among its parts

Like when any new car is released, we would say this version shows improvements compared to previous models. As for the Audi A8 L 2019, not just improvements but great enhancements have been made to offer passengers the most comfortable experience inside. However, the changes in engine operation are minor, not enough to engage driver in his or her own journey.

Audi may need to work more on the co-operation and communication between parts of each powertrain configuration so that A8 L 2019 can surpass its formidable rivals on the competitive luxury market.
