The fiery Dino Melaye in Senate
As a political figure with a very strong activism background, Senator Dino has not been shy of getting in the murky waters of controversy. He was a lead actor in the famous 2010 brawl that occurred in the Green chamber which unfortunately had visiting school children attendance. He has remained vocal with his own ideologies and has constantly proclaimed his purported disdain for corruption. He has in most instances spoken off when no other person seems to, making him stand-out in that regard. He has even been vocal against his own party, publicly condemning their policies and actions.
In a notable instance, he boldly stood by Senator Bukola Saraki who was the duly elected President of the Senate against the wishes of his party and did so right to the end of Saraki's tenure in May of 2019. During that four periods, Dino will endure the political wrath of his party and will be seen in very public and partisan controversies that was him arraigned in court for legally acceptable offenses which were however too spurious and persecutory in nature.
He also had running cases with his state governor whom he advised to resign for being incompetent and corrupt. This battle has seen him being dragged to court for several offenses including the false claim of assassination, attempted murder, sponsoring crime, attempted self-harm etc. The senator is currently enjoying some time away from the public and a period of relative peace even as his party keeps him aware of their large political fangs.
